Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 March
BE INSPIRED THIS MOTHERING SUNDAY
This weekend sees the final two days of New Homes Week 2006 where the house building industry has been showcasing the benefits of new homes.
For most people, the most exciting and striking part of any new development is its show home, the focal point of what the developer is creating and a great indicator of how the finished product will look.
While buying off plan has been and remains popular at many developments, a significant section of the home buying public still like to see the product before they buy, which is why show homes are a valuable part of any developers marketing plan.
This weekend house builders across the UK, large and small, will be opening their show homes for viewing. From city centre locations to small villages and from one bedroom apartments to luxury detached houses, the choice for consumers is vast.
New Homes Weekend
Don’t just take our word for it…
Our efforts throughout New Homes Week will all be geared towards encouraging the public to visit a new build show home this weekend.
Last year’s NHW resulted in a 16% rise in visits to new home developments across the two week period surrounding new homes week – a fantastic opportunity to boost your sales! This year we intend to get even more visitors to developments nationwide to let them see for themselves all the benefits of buying new build.
How can you help achieve this?
- Why not offer a competition over the weekend for visitors to your show home? Visitors could be offered the chance to have a room in their own home made over by the show home’s interior designer or to win a pampering weekend at a local health spa. Those reserving a property, could win a dinner party prepared and served in their new home, or a cleaning service employed for the first year.
- You could have a cookery demonstration or similar in your show home kitchen and invite local journalists, civic dignitaries and members of the local community.
- Hold a first time buyer event with financial advisors and mortgage brokers on-site to answer all their queries in an informal environment
- Hire some onsite entertainers or run a poster design competition to keep the kids entertained while their parents tour the show home
Get your key press involved in NHW:
- Invite journalists to try hand at bricklaying etc – journalist challenge
- Approach a local paper for a joint NHW initiative
- Charity donation for visitors over the weekend linked with paper
- Sell in a Day in the Life feature and let a journalist shadow an MD or brickie for a day
- Sell in some case studies to your local press
- Incorporate NHW into your advertising
Get your public/purchasers involved in NHW:
- Offer special incentives for purchasers during New Homes Week or release a new phase of a development and take a group photograph of all purchasers who have reserved a new home across the week
- Run some onsite style workshops with local landscapers and interior designs offering free advice on how purchasers can create their dream home
- Encourage sales staff to build relationships with purchasers and report back any interesting story angles
- Talk to your purchasers and create as many case studies as you can. This will not only help promote NHW but also give you some useful data on what issues are the most important to your new homes purchasers
