J.A.B.Short Ltd is a family owned and run house building company which has been building traditionally constructed homes for over 100 years.

The companies Head Office is based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire and builds homes on small to medium sized developments within South Yorkshire and the East Midlands.

The company has always retained the aim of building the type of traditional homes that people really want to live in and yet have always incorporated the latest innovations and built to the ever increasing standards of energy conservation and performance. In this respect we have always played on active roll within the relevant trade bodies, such as the Home Builders Federation and the House Builders Association to assist in keeping fully up to date with all new innovations.

All our homes are constructed with the benefit of the full National House Building Council (NHBC) 10 year “Buildmark” warranty. The company being one of the original house builders to support this organisation.

All J.A.B.Short Ltd homes are individually designed by award winning commissioned architects for each particular site. We do not have standard house plans, but believe that every site has its own unique characteristics and so requires house designs to complement those characteristics. J.A.B Short Ltd. also has a small General Contracting Division as well as a growing Property Management Division which manages a large number of shops, offices, leisure and other commercial premises situated within South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire.

Manor Developments (Chesterfield) Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of J.A.B.Short Ltd., is a Property Investment Company, which buys, holds and develops commercial investment properties within the South Yorkshire and East Midlands.
