The historic market town of Leatherhead is one of the most attractive towns in Surrey.Nestling in the Mole Valley and surrounded by stunning countryside it is the gateway to the beautiful Surrey Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Steeped in history, the town has many interesting buildings including several medieval half-timbered houses. Its twice weekly market on Thursdays and Saturdays has many varied stalls and brings in people from around the area providing a focus for the community. The beautiful River Mole meanders through the town, crossed by the majestic 14 arch bridge built in 1784 and inhabited by kingfishers.
The Theatre is a popular local attraction and is host to many dramatic productions throughout the year. Leatherhead also has a thriving art gallery and a cinema. Bocketts Farm Park is an activity farm for families and features rare breeds and a petting zoo. The famous theme park, Chessington World of Adventures is around the corner.
Further recreational pursuits are available at the Leisure Centre with its swimming pooland its remarkable range of facilities. For golfers there are three excellent golf clubs nearby including Pachesham Park, Tyrells Wood and the Effingham Golf Club. Further afield there are the world famous RHS gardens at Wisley, Boxhill Country Park and numerous stately homes dotted around the area.
Getting around is easy. The train service from Leatherhead Railway Station to London Waterloo or Victoria takes just 45 minutes. Junction 9 of the M25 lies to the north of the town providing fast access to the rest of the country. For the jet set, London Gatwick and London Heathrow Airports are each about 40 minutes drive away. Cygnet Court has enough room for your family to stretch its wings.
