An attractive development of new homes in the West Midlands combining the advantages of town-centre living with a surprisingly peaceful ambience and private courtyard parking, Badger's Dene is a superb urban base.
Alongside the exceptional choice of shops and leisure amenities within a 10-minute walk, the development is less than three miles from the delightful countryside of the Wyre Forest, yet within easy commuting range of central Birmingham.
The countryside to the west of Kidderminster, within around three miles of Badger's Dene, offers a diversity of activities, from sailing or enjoying the wildlife and woodland at Trimpley Reservoir – celebrated for its rich bird life – to the endless fascination of Wyre Forest, one of the largest tracts of semi-natural woodland in England.
As well as offering miles of terrain to explore, Wyre Forest has a National Nature Reserve and a visitor centre.
And for more lively exercise, Brinton Park, close to the town centre, has excellent skate-park facilities.
The Church Street Surgery, in the centre of Kidderminster, around half a mile from Badger's Dene, is a major medical centre housed in a modern, purpose-built centre, with a large staff offering
a range of GP services and specialist clinics.
There are also several dental surgeries in easy reach.
Sport and leisure
There are several gyms and fitness clubs within walking distance of Badger's Dene, including the Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre, recently refurbished, which incorporates a leisure pool with wave machines and flumes, squash courts, a comprehensively equipped, air-conditioned gym, sauna and steam rooms, and an eight-court sports hall.
A little over a mile to the west of the development, the Ramada Hotel includes a Sebastian Coe Health Club with an indoor swimming-pool, a gym, sauna, solarium, steam room and spa.
The Kidderminster Golf Club on the eastern edge of the town, now approaching its centenary, has a mature 18-hole parkland course that makes challenging use of a succession of natural hazards.
Just metres from the A456, the main route bypassing Kidderminster town centre to provide fast access to Birmingham in one direction and leading to Wyre Forest in the other, Badger's Dene is ideally located for travel into the town centre and beyond.
Kidderminster Station, around 10 minutes' walk from the development, offers direct services into Birmingham and Worcester, and Birmingham Airport is just 23 miles away.
In addition to the excellent local shops catering for everyday needs, Kidderminster town centre has a good selection of high-street names, supermarkets and independent traders.
The town's market is held on Thursday and Saturday mornings, and many of the most popular national chains are represented in centres such as the Swan Centre, Rowland Hill Centre and the exciting new Weaver's Wharf.
For an even wider choice, the Merry Hill Centre on the south-west of Birmingham is within half an hour's drive.
There is a good choice of primary, middle and secondary schools within walking distance of Badger's Dene.
Badger's Dene is within a few minutes' stroll of the town centre, where The Rose Theatre presents both drama and live music performances, and there is a three-screen Warehouse Cinema.
The Glades Arena, part of the Wyre Forest Leisure Centre, also provides a venue for major touring shows as well as sports events, and the town has a lively choice of bars, clubs, restaurants and cafés.
The development is also less than a mile from West Midland Safari Park, a major attraction in which the animal collections, including the only pride of white lions in the UK, are presented alongside an amusement area with over 30 rides and adventure attractions.
