Exchange Contracts
Once you've signed and exchanged contracts, both you and the developer are committed to complete the deal. At this point, you'll lose your deposit if you pull out, so make sure you're happy with everything before you sign.
You need to arrange a date for completion with the developer and your solicitor. This is when you can get the keys and move into your new home.
If your home is still under construction, your developer will advise you of when it will be ready for you to move in. The warranty provider, such as NHBC or Zurich, will inspect the new home before you complete.
